Following his first win with Misfits Premier in the League of Legends French League (LFL), former Astralis jungler Nikolay “Zanzarah” Akatov had the guts to throw shade at his former organization.
During his LEC tenure, Zanzarah was known for his banter and trolling ability during interviews. Upon returning to a broadcast setting, he did not disappoint.
In his first postgame interview on the LFL broadcast, the jungler shared his excitement to be with Misfits after playing several splits for Astralis in the LEC without proper results.
And he was quite colorful in his choice of words:
“I don’t want to prove anything; I just want to win something,” Zanzarah said after beating Mirage Elyandra. “Because sometimes in Astralis, yeah, if you join Astralis, you don’t want to win, let’s be honest.”
Despite playing on Astralis for three LEC splits, nothing stopped him from stating the obvious. During those splits, he finished out of the playoffs in all splits, even ranking dead last in the recent spring split.
After that disappointing finish, Zanzarah parted ways with Astralis and favored playing in the European Regional League circuit, in the highly-competitive LFL.
Alongside talented players, he and Misfits Premier seek to top the most competitive ERL and ultimately qualify for the European Masters—which he won in the 2020 summer split on AGO Rogue.
Misfits Premier started the split poorly with three losses in a row, but they have bounced back since then. As such, they can, as the jungler said: “show who’s the boss.”
The next match for Zanzarah and co. will be against the winless Solary on Wednesday, June 15.
