Dota 2 7.36c is one of the most important patches of the year, and Xtreme Gaming’s iconic support player has dropped a tier list of the best supports at the Esports World Cup.
With over $2.1 million in career earnings and a silver finish at The International 2021, few players are as proven as Zhao “XinQ” Zixing. The Chinese support player is one of the most authoritative names in the game. However, his standing on a top team means he can’t always share his opinion on the meta. However, in preparation for the $5 million Dota 2 tournament at the Esports World Cup, XinQ has dropped a tier list for the best soft supports in Dota 2 7.36c.
Here are which picks rule the meta according to a podium finisher at TI.
According to XinQ, the best soft support of Dota 2 7.36c is a tie between Rubick, Marci, Hoodwink, and Snapfire.
XinQ revealed his opinion via a tier list that was posted on Xtreme Gaming social media. XinQ did not give reasons behind his tier list. Many of his signature picks such as Rubick and Weaver appear in the top tiers. Surprise inclusions are Lion and Windranger, who are generally less popular in matchmaking. There are many more than just 14 soft supports in Dota 2, which implies that all of the heroes featured in the list are viable in tournament play.
Monkey King is a notable inclusion on the tier list. XinQ popularized a unique Monkey King support style where players use Mischief at level one to snipe enemy couriers. The MK can then hang around behind the enemy towers and snipe couriers, theoretically granting a massive landing advantage. This strategy is notable for leaving the offlaner to fend for himself, which has led to much frustration in pubs. XinQ could have his sights set on enemy couriers at Riyadh Masters.
While there’s reason to believe that XinQ gave his honest opinion about the best support picks for 7.36c, he could be throwing off enemy teams ahead of the Esports World Cup. The $5 million prize will likely be the biggest of 2024. While his picks make sense, he may be baiting bans in Saudi Arabia.
