PC players are already getting to dig into FragPunk, but will Xbox players be able to join in on the fun.
FragPunk is a fast 5v5 hero shooter with plenty to differentiate itself from the competition. The most significant difference is the inclusion of power-up cards that mix up the rules in each round. Each round is designed to play very differently from the last. Players can choose their hero with unique abilities, select weapons, and even pick their assortment of shard cards. While the hero and weapon selection remains the same, each round offers a different pool of cards to pick from.
FragPunk is mixing a card game with a free to play shooter. It’s a wild mix, but it is working.
FragPunk’s exact Xbox release date has yet to be announced, but it’s coming sometime in 2025.
The closed alpha only focused on the PC, but the developers recently confirmed an Xbox version of FragPunk. The PC alpha garnered positive buzz from players who participated. The game has gotten good initial reviews from gamers across the board. The developers announced that they’ve considered player feedback and implemented changes.
The biggest feedback was about a FragPunk console version. While the FragPunk PS5 version has not been announced yet, the developers are excited to inform players about the game’s Xbox launch.
The FragPunk beta for Xbox can be joined through the Xbox Insider Program.
The closed beta access is limited and only selected Xbox players will be able to join it. So, as of yet, the only way to play the game is to apply through the Insider Program.
FragPunk will feature crossplay between Xbox and PC players. There is no announcement about the game landing on other platforms yet. Like Marvel Rivals and Deadlock, closed beta players can get access codes and invite more friends to testing. When it launches in October, selected players will be notified about the FragPunk Xbox closed beta.
