Why vtubers Matara Kan and CottontailVA are beefing on Twitch

Matara Kan

CottontailVA has banned Matara Kan from her Twitch chat, and it looks like the two vtubers are involved in a beef.

CottontailVA and Matara Kan are two highly popular vtubers in the scene. While Cotton is independent, Matara is affiliated with the popular vtuber agency, VShojo. Cotton made her debut in 2020 and Matara is relatively new with her 2023 debut but both have made their marks on the industry. Another difference between the two is that while Matara has done a face reveal, Cotton has only done a censored face reveal. However, something peculiar has come to the notice of fans confusing them. Cotton has banned Matara on her Twitch chat.

Fans want to know why Cotton banned Matara and why the two vtubers are beefing.

Why did CottontailVA ban Matara Kan?

CottontailVA stated that Matara Kan was banned from her Twitch chat for breaking her Twitch hype train record while Cotton was offline.

Matara Kan posted on X that she was banned from CottontailVA’s Twitch chat. Matara claimed that Cotton banned her “for nothing.” The vtuber shared a screenshot of the ban notice she sees when she opens a Twitch stream of Cotton. Furthermore, Matara tagged Cotton so she could get a response on the ban and likely to try and get the ban removed.

CottontailVA shared offense of Matara Kan

CottontailVA responded to Matara Kan’s claim that she was banned for nothing. Cotton explained that the vtuber was banned for smashing her hype train Twitch record. The vtuber claimed she woke up to the record broken and banned Matara.

Are the two vtubers beefing or just playing?

The two vtubers are likely playing around, and there is no real beef between CottontailVA and Matara Kan.

The reason CottontailVA gave for banning Matara Kan isn’t too serious and some even commented that on her X post. The non-serious reason seems to hint that the two vtubers are just joking and creating drama for fans.

In Matara Kan X’s post, there are comments about how it’s karma for banning people and she is seeing how it feels like to be banned. On the other hand, some fans commented to support Matara. So fans were enjoying the drama between the vtubers.

It is also possible Twitch assumed Matara was a bot since Cotton wasn’t streaming at the time. If this is the case, then it is possible Cotton didn’t ban Matara. However, the two vtubers might have used the ban as a way to have some fun.
