Why vtuber Pavolia Reine is going on hiatus, when she’ll return

Pavolia Reine hiatus

Pavolia Reine has announced she’s going on a hiatus, surprising fans who now want to know the reason for her break from streaming and when she’ll be back.

Hololive’s Pavolia Reine is an Indonesian vtuber who debuted in the agency’s ID branch alongside Anya Melfissa and Kureiji Olli. She streams various content including karaoke and gaming streams, which have made her massively popular. The vtuber reached 100,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel on the same day as her debut and currently boasts close to one million followers on the platform. Her channel is still consistently growing, showing just how much her fans love her content. Pavolia is known for engaging with her fans, but has now delivered some shocking news.

On April 9, Pavolia Reine announced that she’s going on a hiatus, leading to fans speculating on the reason why and the timing of her potential return.

Why is Pavolia Reine going on a hiatus?

Pavolia Reine stated that she is going on hiatus from streaming to recover from an undisclosed medical issues.

In her tweet, Pavolia Reine informed fans that she is currently suffering from a medical illness and needs time off in order to properly recover. She went on to say that her doctor and manager have both advised her to cease her streaming activities temporarily as they may hinder her medical recovery process. The vtuber requested that fans to send her good vibes so she could get better soon and return to streaming content for them.

Pavolia Reine didn’t elaborate on the exact nature of her illness, but the vtuber has been heard consistently coughing during her recent streams before the Hololive 6th fes in March and had stomach issues some time back. This led fans to speculate whether an illness was later to these symptoms, and had potentially recurred leading to this latest hiatus. Regardless, her followers have been wishing the vtuber a speedy recovery so she that can return to streaming soon.

When will Pavolia Reine return?

Vtuber Pavolia Reine states she plans to gradually resume her streaming activities in just one to two weeks, assuming her recovery goes to plan.

Pavolia Reine gave an approximate timeframe about when she’ll resume streaming but stated that she would begin resuming her content creation work gradually rather than going back to a full schedule all at once. Her hiatus is down to medical reasons, so her return depends on how quickly she recovers and that recovery being lasting. The exact timing hasn’t been disclosed as Pavoila hasn’t discussed the exact nature of her illness, thus her return is subject to change depending on how she feels.

Pavolia Reine isn’t the first vtuber to take a break from streaming because of health issues, which are increasingly common in the industry. Hololive’s Iroha Kazama also took a break in 2024 because of severe throat issues. More and more fans are urging vtubers to be mindful of their personal health and to prioritize their well-being versus rigidly maintaining busy content creation and streaming schedules.
