Why the Nijisanji stock price continues to fall

Nijisanji Stock price falling header

Nijisanji stocks have been falling uncontrollably since February 2024 and it doesn’t seem like there’s going to be any recovery in sight.

Anycolor, the company that owns Nijisanji, has had its stock prices fall down since February 6, 2024. Usually, the stock prices of a company drop when drastic decisions happen within the company. In turn, the investors become more cautious and might even cash out their stocks to cut their losses, especially if they see no point in the investment anymore.

And this is exactly what happened to Anycolor.

Why did Nijisanji stocks fall?

Nijisanji stocks continue to fall due to controversy surrounding the dismissal of vtuber Selen Tatsuki.

On February 5, 2024, Anycolor released a statement about the termination of one of their talents: Selen Tatsuki. According to this statement, Selen Tatsuki has released a music video without permission from the original singer which is a huge breach of Anycolor’s activity rules. This, in addition to other alleged offenses Selen has made during her time in Nijisanji, led to her termination.

However, people in the replies are quick to point out that Selen did have permission to use everything in the music video and it was even revealed that Selen had to pay the artists she commissioned using her own money when Anycolor hadn’t paid them.

Selen Tatsuki and Dokibird

Dokibird, which was the vtuber Selen was before she joined Nijisanji, released a statement a few minutes after the termination was announced. In the short statement, she revealed that she was bullied by people within the company and that the atmosphere got too toxic for her which led to her breaking point. It doesn’t help that Anycolor published a statement on their investor relations page that said Selen’s termination from the company would only have a negligible effect on Nijisanji stock. This was quickly discovered by Selen’s fans and the international vtuber community, further adding to the disaster. This even led Anycolor Riku Tazumi CEO to release a video response.

On February 6, 2024, Anycolor’s stock price went down and has continued to descend. Anycolor’s stock price as of writing has dropped 27% compared to last year with significant dips as recent as August 5.
