Fortnite has confirmed that the Caffeinated emote has been officially removed from the game, but why is the fan-favorite gone?
Sabrina Carpenter recently joined Fortnite in the form of the popular Caffeinated emote, which has characters dancing to her song Espresso. The emote was part of the Lexa Hexbringer and Sabrina Carpenter bundle, which also includes old Halloween skins and Sabrina Carpenter items. Fortnite players became worried when they noticed that the Caffeinated emote had disappeared. Was it a glitch? Would it be coming back? Now, the Fortnite X account has announced that the Caffeinated emote was removed intentionally. Now fans wonder why and if it will come back.
Here’s what happened to the Espresso emote in Fortnite.
Yes, Epic has confirmed that the Caffeinated emote will return to Fortnite.
After the Caffeinated emote was removed on October 17, the Fortnite X account said that it will “provide more info on when it will return” at a later date. So while the Fortnite community has been told the Caffeinated emote will come back, it’s currently unknown exactly when that will be.
Fans are also speculating that it won’t come back the same. While Epic did not explain why the Caffeinated emote was removed, a lot of Fortnite players believe that developers are listening to prior complaints about the song version that was used in the emote and are going to bring it back in its original form.
When Caffeinated was first added to Fortnite, it was the nightcore version of the song. This means it was a bit sped up and had a higher voice than Sabrina Carpenter’s original song. Many fans took to X to voice their anger, claiming they wouldn’t be buying the emote due to it not being the original version. Some said that Fortnite had “ruined” the song.
As the backlash continued, the Espresso emote suddenly disappeared. Now, fans believe that Epic has heard their continued outcry and is changing the emote for them.
“I personally didn’t mind the current version, but they’re listening to the community, and that’s the most important thing!” said one fan.
While Fortnite players are sad to see the Caffeinated emote go, there is currently hope that it will return even better. Anyone who already purchased the Caffeinated emote will also have it replaced with the new version, if that’s what Epic has planned.
