The price of Zhang “z4kr” Sike’s Copenhagen Major sticker is soaring, but why the sudden spike?
z4kr is a Chinese professional Counter-Strike 2 player for Lynn Vision who made his Valve event debut at the Copenhagen Major in March 2024. While his team didn’t perform particularly well, his post-tournament sticker has become a breakaway hit with special attention on its high price tag. Many fans are wondering the reason behind such a high cost for a sticker from a relatively small-time esports player.
Here’s why z4kr’s autograph sticker is the second most expensive from the Copenhagen Major capsule.
Currently, the gold version of z4kr’s autograph sticker can cost between $120 and $170.
CSGOSkins.gg tracks the prices of different CS2 and CSGO skins from their release date to the present. Listings for the gold z4kr sticker currently start at $117.96, and some sellers are asking for almost $170. Back in March, the lowest price the sticker sold for was $227, with some higher bids going up to $324.
Notably, this is only the second priciest sticker from the Copenhagen 2024 Contenders Autograph Capsule. Team Spirit member Danil “donk” Kryshkovets’s gold majors sticker has gone for as much as $443. However, the price makes much more sense than z4kr’s given his tournament record and notoriety for being a young CS2 prodigy.
The gold z4kr sticker is so expensive because of the Chinese characters written on it.
Fans have noticed that z4kr’s signature looks like the Chinese phrase “niu bi.” Translated into English, it would read as “awesome” or “cool.” China is known for being a prominent driver of sticker and skin collection, and both a cool and slang meaning make z4kr’s gold majors sticker a perfect collectible.
Valve created 160 different stickers for the Copenhagen Major. z4kr’s gold sticker is classified as extraordinary and super rare, with a drop chance of 0.64%. Even without the large Chinese market for CS2 skins and stickers, this rarity level alone would be enough to account for some of the price inflation.
Could the Shanghai Majors bring a new extravagantly expensive sticker to CS2? Only time will tell if another unexpected skin will appear for fans to try and buy.
