Twitch streamer and Partner Morgan “Frogan” has been banned from the platform, following controversial remarks made about US military veterans and her participation in a controversial panel at TwitchCon.
Frogan has gained significant public awareness recently, particularly in the realm of political streams. The Twitch Partner has been featured by the massive streaming platform on multiple occasions and has recently landed in hot water for a series of remarks made about American veterans on October 19.
After controveries surrounding her most recent statements, Twitch finally banned Frogan on October 21, leading to even more confusion.
Twitch did not say why it banned Frogan, but it may be due to controversial statements she made about United States military veterans, or due to her participation in a TwitchCon panel which some have said was discriminatory.
Frogan was banned on October 21, 2024, the streamer’s first ban. The ban comes in the immediate aftermath of a controversial clip from her Twitch stream. In the now-viral clip, Frogan expressed disdain for some military veterans, saying:
“I have no pity at all for any f—ing soldiers. I will never have any f—-ing pity for any soldiers. US military? Boo-f—ing hoo. I hope you get PTSD.”
The streamer clarified that she had sympathy for repentant veterans, who “didn’t know it was wrong at the time. You’re a good person my book.” But, “Any other m—-f—–, you’re like ‘oh I want my Camaro! No student loans! F— you, I hope you get PTSD, and I hope you get no health insurance when you get back into f—ing America.”
Meanwhile, the TwitchCon panel in question took place at TwitchCon 2024, and featured Frogan alongside several other streamers ranking personalities on a tier list. That list and its tiered ranking has since come under scrutiny, with some suggesting that its basis was discriminatory.
Given that this is Frogan’s first ban, it’s likely to be a brief punitive measure by Twitch. In the wake of Frogan’s comments, many Twitch viewers took to social media to complain to the streaming platform about its partner’s conduct. In a statement addressing her on-stream comments, Frogan expressed a continued disdain for the US military’s international conduct while admitting she “could have talked about these topics in a more sensitive way”
The statement hasn’t seemed to placate outraged viewers, nor the platform itself, given the ban. According to a Tweet made by Frogan, she will be banned for 30 days. In response, the streamer has complained about the length of her ban compared to the ban currently being served by Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt following controversial comments on Palestinians and Muslims.
UPDATE: Frogan has since claimed that the ban was a result of her participation in a controversial panel at TwitchCon.
