The lack of a replay system in Valorant has been one of the biggest talking points among the fans since the game’s release in 2020, and somehow mobile players will be the first to get it.
When Valorant was released without a replay system, serious players had questions and concerns. For any competitive game intended to be an esport, a replay system is crucial. Since Riot’s intention with Valorant was always for it to be an uber-competitive esport, fans were surprised when the highly-requested feature wasn’t added from the start. Riot instead turned its attention to console and mobile releases, leaving the original version to its current state.
No replays was a complaint that players made sure was heard time and again, and it seems Riot has finally listened. However, with a small catch.
Valorant PC doesn’t have a replay system, but leakers have discovered one for Valorant Mobile, which may be added soon.
On September 9, Valorant leakers shared a snippet of a replay system from the game’s mobile variant. By pressing a single key, a video with a scrubber bar appears, playing the last round. It works similarly to the Steam replay system and has various other options to pause, play, and rewind a clip.
At first glance, it looks like a clip from Valorant PC, but it’s actually from a mobile variant. Valorant Mobile is currently in a highly-exclusive testing phase in China, which means those who are part of the beta will get to experience the replay system before those who have been playing Valorant PC for four years.
The clip looks smooth and bug-free, suggesting that the replay system on Valorant Mobile may be released soon. This would leave PC players behind, who got a glimpse of the under-development replay system in May 2024. According to Riot, the feature is ready, but is still too buggy to be rolled out in its current form.
