Twitch has banned streamer and content creator Mychal “Trihex” Ramon Jefferson for the third time, and we know the reason why.
Trihex is a professional streamer and all-around gamer who started off by speedrunning games. He first came into the limelight at the Awesome Games Done Quick 2014 speedrunning charity event. Trihex is also one of the pioneers of speedrunning streams on the popular streaming platform Twitch. The streamer has even had his own Twitch emote called the TriHard emote.
Not everything about the emote is positive, and both it and the streamer himself have been part of controversies on Twitch. On January 8, 2025, Trihex’s Twitch channel was unexpectedly banned from the platform. The streamer hasn’t issued a statement to explain why his channel was banned, but the alleged reason has been shared by someone else.
A Reddit user who claimed to be a mod for Trihex’s Twitch channel alleged that the streamer was banned for sexual content.
The Reddit user initially posted that they were unsure why Twitch had suspended Trihex’s channel. He stated that they thought a “poverty chat” might be the reason. The annual Games Done Quick chat is sub-only and heavily moderated, while the so-called poverty chat is more free-flowing.
The Reddit user later edited his comment in the post to say that Twitch may have banned Trihex for sexual content. He stated that the streamer put together a segment about a certain adult website, but claimed that nothing explicit was shown on the stream during the segment.
The alleged mod said that he still believes Trihex may have been banned for the poverty chat. He claimed that users there are too rowdy and it’s possible something there was flagged. He also insinuated that Trihex may have been banned for sexual content posted in the chat, which would cover both bases.
Trihex’s Twitch channel notifies viewers that it is unavailable temporarily, so his ban shouldn’t be permanent and the popular streamer is almost certain return once the channel is reinstated.
There is no official confirmation yet as to how long Trihex will be banned from Twitch. His channel confirms that the ban is temporary, but no other information about the the channel’s reinstatement is yet available.
Trihex’s past two bans have both been for brief durations. According to StreamerBans, his first ban lasted a mere few seconds, and his second didn’t even last 24 hours. If the same pattern continues then the streamer should be back on Twitch sooner than later. And even if Twitch does give him a longer ban, it shouldn’t be for more than a week before he’s back based on this latest apparent offense.
