Why did Twitch ban Scumtk and when will he come back?

Scumtv_Twitch

Twitch streamer Scumtk has been banned just one day after hitting a big follower milestone on the platform, and we know why and whether it’s permanent.

Scumtk is a popular Twitch streamer best known for his Just Chatting content, which often features reaction streams. Although he initially gained traction playing games like GTA and Valorant and streaming NFL and NBA content, fans know him from his wild reaction clips that often go viral on YouTube and X. Last year, he appeared on Kai Cenat’s stream, and more recently, he hit a milestone of 247,000 followers, thanks in part to a shoutout from Kai.

On November 25, Scumtk’s Twitch channel was slapped with a ban. The streamer has acknowledged and accepted the ban in a new post on X, and also made it explicit why he was punished by the platform.

Why was Scumtk banned on Twitch?

Scumtk has been banned on Twitch for copyright violations after streaming the Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings NFL game.

On November 25, Scumtk went live on Twitch with a stream titled “NFL Sunday Bears, Vikings Live.” It’s worth noting that even playing a copyrighted audio can get you banned on Twitch, which may have resulted in Scumtk’s ban. Copyright strikes typically don’t last long, and the same is the case for scumtk.

Fans should sit tight since this is a short ban, and he’ll be back streaming on November 27. This was confirmed by the streamer on X.

“See you in 2 days. The NFL made the boss call,” Scumtk said.

This is effectively confirmed on his Twitch channel. Rather than the usual message that content on the channel is temporarily unavailable, the notification reads that he was removed at the request of a copyright holder.

This is not his first ban on Twitch. In fact, Scumtk has been banned five times in the span of four years. His first ban came in 2020 when he was new to Twitch. However, all of these bans were shortlived due to the light nature of the offense. This would be his fifth ban on the platform. Thankfully for Scumtk, Twitch is far removed from the days of a three-strike policy when it comes to sanctions. He’ll be back to streaming on the platform in short order.
