Fans were challenged to find Kai Cenat, and one lucky viewer won the contest in a few hours.
Kai Cenat’s massive Mafiathon 2 is still ongoing and the sub count continues to rise. Kai Cenat now has over 500K subscribers as he nears one month of nonstop live streaming. What started as a way to reclaim his sub-record from vtuber Ironmouse has become something even more massive.Despite breaking the record, Cenat continued the Mafiathon, unlocking new subscriber heights for himself and the platform.
While Kai has already challenged fans and guests alike to many wacky challenges, one saw a huge cash reward for the viewer who could find him the quickest. Kai’s latest challenge tasked fans with finding him somewhere in Los Angeles for a hefty $100,000 prize. Although Los Angeles is undoubtedly a big place, it didn’t take long for Kai Cenat and his crew to be found.
And the man who found Kai Cenat was quite a celebrity in his own right.
Notable music producer Ljay Currie found Kai Cenat in Los Angeles in only a few hours. Fans were initially confused when the livestream was simply a closeup of Kai Cenat’s mouth. But it soon started to make sense. Kai Cenat explained to viewers that he would give away $100,000 to the first person to find him in Los Angeles. Every time 1,000 subs come in, the camera view gets wider, revealing more details about his location.
Some fans joked popular GeoGuessr streamer Trevor Rainbolt could quickly find him, based on the close-up of Kai Cenat’s mouth. Kai Cenat clarified that fans must find him in person.
“We’re here until someone comes to us in real life in person and we’ll hand them $100,000,” said Ludwig Ahgren offscreen.
In response, fans claimed they were about to fly to Los Angeles to find the streamer and win the cash. These fans need not have wasted tickets, because Ljay Currie found the streamer hours after the contest began. Ljay Currie is a successful music producer who has worked for artists such as Drake, Lil Wayne, and Iggy Azalea.
According to Currie, he sent out his friends to check out popular spots around Los Angeles. The producer claimed he could see the setup’s curtain from the street. Currie and three of his friends will split the $100,000. Many agree it’s a good reward for simply driving around Los Angeles for 40 minutes.
However, some fans believe the story seems a little too convenient, and wondered if the contest to find Kai Cenat was a giveaway scam. While the allegations are just that for the moment, they could sour some fans on the authenticity of Kai’s contests in the future. Regardless, fans will likely stay tuned for whatever high-stakes contest Kai Cenat puts out next.
