A new CS2 team called Unpaid is appearing in big events, but who is this mysterious new stack?
Bleed is an esports org from Singapore that has teams in Dota 2, Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege, CS2, and more. They have been running into a lot of controversy the last month. On October 4, Riot Games removed Bleed from the VCT Pacific International League after the org failed to “comply with critical reporting requirements” and other obligations. Now, Bleed is being accused of not paying its esports teams.
The one to go public with the accusations was Bleed CS2 coach Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović, who explained there were “no other options left.” Trifunovic is responding by changing the CS2 team’s name to Unpaid.
Unpaid is a CS2 team led by coach kassad formed by Bleed’s roster after it entered pay disputes. Unpaid is going to be competing in upcoming CS2 tournaments under this new name to highlight Bleed’s alleged shady behavior.
The Unpaid members include the following.
At this time, the Unpaid team is still part of the Bleed esports organization.
CS2 coach kassad shared a tweet on X that claimed Bleed did not pay its CS2 players for several months.
At the start of the issue, Bleed was just inconsistent and often delayed payments by up to four months. kassad also accused Bleed of not paying buyouts for several players and not giving out prize money won at tournaments. Multiple esports teams under Bleed reported similar situations including CS2, Dota 2, Valorant, and Rainbow Six Siege.
“These financial uncertainties have created significant stress, impacting our preparation, motivation, and performance,” the CS2 coach wrote. “It’s crucial to highlight that even in 2024, supposed Tier-1 esports organizations can struggle with basic obligations.”
The CS2 players accused Bleed of lying about payments and making “empty promises.” Other times, they alleged they were “completely ignored” by management. Now that Bleed’s CEO seems to have “disappeared,” kassad said they are looking into a legal team to determine what to do next and are interested in joining another org.
Until then, the Bleed CS2 team will be going by Unpaid as it competes at RES Regional Champions and Thunderpick World Championship 2024.
