The League of Legends team Los Ratones won the NNO Cup Season 2 with the stand-out support Rekkles, though long-time fans probably already know this legendary LoL esports player.
Martin “Rekkles” Larsson isn’t a new name in the League of Legends fandom. The player has been on professional juggernaut teams like Fnatic and G2 and was in T1 for a while. From being heralded as the first high-profile player from the West to play in the Korean league to finding himself in controversy with G2 and Fnatic, the player has seen it all.
With so many years of professional League of Legends under his belt, it’s only natural that Rekkles has attracted a sizable fanbase. However, the most recent accomplishment that put the player on the map again was his performance during the NNO Cup Season 2. The win sparked discussions among fans about LR’s roster, particularly highlighting the legendary Rekkles.
Martin “Rekkles” Larsson is a professional League of Legends player who has played for Fnatic, G2, T1, and more. Pronounced as “reckless,” Rekkles debuted his esports career in 2012.
Rekkles jumped between teams until he joined Fnatic as its starting AD Carry, which speaks volumes about his skill. Unfortunately, the player couldn’t participate in the 2013 EU LCS for Fnatic because of his young age. This prompted the creation of the secondary Fnatic.Beta squad.
The young ADC main was with Fnatic for 8 years until 2020, after which he joined G2 for a year. In Late 2022, he rejoined Fnatic before joining T1 because he decided to swap to the support role. Rekkles is known for being the first high-profile Western League of Legends player to play in the Korean league, and rightfully so. His debut match in the LCK CL broke the viewing record, showcasing the size of his fanbase.
Rekkles has achieved numerous S-Tier tournament victories throughout his career. The Swedish player holds the record for the most split MVPs in LEC history with a whopping four MVPs. Three were in finals, and one was in the playoffs. He’s also tied with Mancloud for the most kills in an LCS split. He reached 1000 kills in the EU LCS in 2017, making him the first player to reach that number of kills in the event. Rekkles also holds the achievement of being the first player to reach 2000 kills in the LEC, reaching it in 2021.
Rekkles joined the semi-professional LoL esports team Los Ratones in November 2024 and will likely remain part of it for a while.
Rekkles went through a lot near the end of his time with T1. The player discovered he was on the autism spectrum and stated he wasn’t in a good mental headspace. Because of this, he parted ways with T1 on good terms to stay closer to home. While he still wanted to play professionally, he wanted to do so alongside a European team that would let him stay closer to his friends and family.
Fortunately, Los Ratones perfectly fits that requirement. Founded by the content creator Marc “Caedrel” Lamont, the European team may be new but it started strong with its victory in the NNO Cup Season 2. With Rekkles as its support player, Los Ratones has many eyes on it, and fans can’t wait to see how far it goes.
