More details on another crossover between Fortnite and Dragon Ball Z have leaked, revealing two new skins for Android 17 and Android 18 and their release dates.
There were already rumors of this collaboration back in May, where it was claimed Trunks, son of Vegeta and Bulma, would be coming to Fortnite. At the time, it was unclear if he’d be the only character making the jump. But now it looks like that’s not the case.
On Twitter, reliable Fortnite leakers FNAssist and ShiinaBR shared images of Fortnite skins for Androids 17 and 18, alongside new back bling items. These two characters appearing alongside Trunks makes sense considering all three of them made their debut in Dragon Ball Z’s Android Saga.
ShiinaBR has claimed Android 17 and Android 18 will appear in Fortnite’s item shop with August 10 or August 11 release date. If this is the case, an exact date should be officially made by Epic Games before the end of the week. This also means the Android 17 and 18 cosmetics will simply be available for purchase from the store with V-Bucks, though how much they’ll cost remains a mystery. Most of the previous Dragon Ball Z skins have been priced at 1,500 V-Bucks, but others have gone for 1,800 V-Bucks, with main hero Goku being the most expensive at 2,000 V-Bucks.
There doesn’t seem to be any indication of when Trunks will see his release date in the game. Unless Epic Games says otherwise, it’s probably safe to assume he’ll be included with Androids 17 and 18. According to ShiinBR, this collaboration will be shortly followed by two others as well: one for the X-Men ’97 cartoon, and one for Star Wars.
Based on previous Fortnite x Dragon Ball Z collaborations, it’s likely this latest one will only feature Trunks, Android 17, and Android 18. Aside from the original collaboration, which featured four characters, every subsequent one has only added two or three characters to Fortnite.
However, the hit manga and anime franchise still has a lot of characters to drawn from for future collaborations, and it’s unlikely this will be the last. Other popular characters like Krillin, Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, and Majin Buu still remain absent. Plus, a new anime series titled Dragon Ball Daima will begin airing later this year, which would be a prime opportunity for another cross-promotion with Fortnite.
