Kai Cenat may be one of a kind on Twitch, but New Yorkers are determined enough to find lookalikes that there’s a reward on the line for someone who resembles the content creator.
With over 13.5 million followers on Twitch, Kai Cenat is one of the most popular and recognizable streamers in the world. Currently working on taking back his sub record from vtuber Ironmouse, Cenat is known for his over-the-top reactions, celebrity collaborations, and determination to beat RPGs.
His personality can’t be replicated, but fans are currently on the search for people that physically match the top streamer.
The Kai Cenat lookalike contest will take place on October 26, 2024, at 1 pm EST in Union Square Park.
Posters have been spotted around New York City that are advertising a Kai Cenat lookalike meetup. Scanning the poster’s QR code opens up a Partiful link with money flying around the screen. It states that there will be a $100 cash prize, most likely to be rewarded to the attendee that looks the most like Kai Cenat.
“You don’t have to enter the competition. You can just watch,” the description concludes.
So far, over 90 people have stated that they will be attending the event. Even more may show up since there are nearly 30 maybe’s and probably plenty of others who will pop in without signing into the Partiful event.
Someone going by the name Kai Cenat states they will be attending the lookalike competition, but that is likely just a fan.
The organizer’s response? “Sorry, no professionals.”
Of course, there’s no proof that this is the real Kai Cenat. In all reality, it likely isn’t. Kai Cenat has not publicly reacted to the lookalike competition on his social media. But fans are likely hoping the star streamer will still make an appearance. Unfortunately, Kai Cenat may be avoiding more New York City appearances after what happened last time.
In the summer of 2023, Kai Cenat went to Union Square to give away some free PlayStations. This resulted in over 6,000 fans crowding the area, jumping on cars, and causing a scene. In the end, 65 people were arrested and Cenat’s team made an apology.
