What’s next for f0rest after retirement from CS2?

CS hall of fame

Arguably one of the best Counter-Strike players ever, Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg has announced his retirement from competitive esports and fans wonder whether he’ll disappear.

Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg has had a career in CS esports for almost two decades. During that time, f0rest has ranked on HLTV’s top 20 players four times and won the ESL Cologne Major in 2014. When f0rest was part of Ninja in Pyjamas, he was on the iconic 87:0 roster, which holds the longest map win streak on LAN in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive history. However, the Counter-Strike player has surprised fans with some unexpected news.

On November 8, 2024, f0rest announced that he would be retiring from competitive play, but does that really mean the end of his legendary career?

Why is f0rest retiring?

f0rest is likely retiring because no competitive team is willing to pick him up.

The last team f0rest played for was Dignitas. However, the team lost their sponsor and stepped back from CSGO. After that, f0rest announced that even though he is over 30 years old, he can still play like before.

f0rest retirement

The legendary CS player waited for a team to reach out to him, but nothing panned out in CS2. Some teams inquired about him but f0rest wasn’t picked up by anyone. It looks like after waiting for some time, f0rest came to the decision to retire from competitive gaming completely.

What’s next for f0rest after CS retirement?

After his retirement from CS esports, f0rest has become the brand ambassador of Ninja in Pajamas.

While f0rest is retiring from CS competitive gaming, that doesn’t mean he is leaving the Counter-Strike scene completely. f0rest is becoming the brand ambassador for Ninja in Pajamas, which means that the former CS player can continue to do what he loves even after retiring from CS esports.

f0rest stated that he doesn’t want to become a coach, but his new position at Ninja in Pajamas might have the former CS player taking some of the younger and newer players under his wing. This is great for everyone as f0rest can still play a role in the scene and the newer generation can learn from the legend himself.
