Those starting on their streaming journey on the popular Kick platform will want to accustom themselves to the primary rules of the streaming platform to better ensure that they won’t face issues later on.
The streaming scene has seen much change of late. Whereas it previously primarily consisted of IRL streams and gaming-related content, it now sees creators streaming whatever they want, from over-the-top game shows to live reactions to all sorts of content. Kick stands alongside platforms like Twitch and YouTube for those who want to get into livestreaming, including those looking to join the ranks of the most popular streams.
Every platform has rules and regulations for its streamers to ensure that things run smoothly. While Kick is known for its relatively lax rules compared to Twitch, there are still a handful of things people must know before they start streaming on the newer platform.
Things that can get streamers banned on Kick include hate speech, doxxing, pornography, botting, law-breaking behavior, and hacking in-game.
Most of the things that are prohibited on Kick are exactly what someone would expect. Despite the platform’s allowance for some forms of mature content, full or partial nudity and overly sexual content are more strictly prohibited. Additionally, streaming any form of adult content without marking the stream as being for mature users can lead to consequences to ensure the safety of the platform’s users.
Targeted harassment is naturally prohibited on Kick. This includes any form of hate speech, doxxing, or sending people to someone else’s stream for the express purpose of harassing them. On the same note is any kind of law-breaking behavior. Scamming, impersonating another user, stealing, violating copyright protections, and gambling in locations where online gambling is illegal are all acts that can incur Kick’s wrath and see a streamer punished on the platform. Streamers also can’t gamble using money taken from their views, whether through sweepstakes, lotteries, or other potential means.
Kick also wants to ensure that things remain fair. This includes prohibiting bots or scripts that can artificially increase a channel’s viewer counts or follower numbers. Hacking or cheating in multiplayer games is also strictly prohibited while streaming on Kick. This makes sense considering video game streaming is one of the most popular categories on the platform.
While Kick’s policy does allow for the streaming of gambling content, that allowance does come with a list of requirements that streamers must meet in order to avoid punishment.
Arguably the biggest requirement for streamers wanting to stream gambling content on Kick is that the betting activity being streamed should be legal in the streamer’s country or region. Some countries prohibited any sort of online gambling, and that also extends to streaming it live on Kick. Using a website that requires age and ID verification is the safest way to go, as that’s the best way to ensure that the streamer is also eligible to stream the gambling content on Kick.
Additionally, streamers can’t gamble using money or other assets taken from other Kick users for the specific purpose. This means the platform prohibits sub-only betting competitions, weighted giveaways, and any sort of buy-in activities.
So long as you steer clear of the few prohibited activities, users are unlikely to experience any issues with moderation while streaming on Kick.
Players must be 21 years of age or older or reach the minimum age for gambling in their respective state and located in jurisdictions where online gambling is legal. Please play responsibly.
