The release date for Dota 2’s newest hero Kez and Crownfall Act 4 may come sooner than people think.

The announcement of Kez during TI 2024 reignited hype among Dota 2 players, especially so soon after Ringmaster’s long-awaited debut. Ricky “rkryptic” Peterson has claimed the release date of Crownfall Act 4 will be October 1, 2024.

The insider claimed that the update is scheduled for right after Dreamleague Season 24’s closed qualifier, which ends on September 30.

“Before we go, I hope you gamers are excited for tomorrow, because you get to look forward to Crownfall Act 4, the new hero Kez, and I’m sure another juicy surprise you guys could look forward to,” said rkryptic after Dreamleague Season 24’s closed qualifier.

Many fans took this to mean that as an October 1 release date for Crownfall Act 4 and Kez. However, rkryptic may simply have teased news or announcements regarding Crownfall Act 4. Valve does tend to release updates in between events, especially if it includes a game patch. The timing between the closed qualifiers for DreamLeague and the actual event gives an opportunity to refresh the meta after TI 13.

Fans consider Dreamleague, organized by ESL Gaming and Dreamhack, as one of the most notable ESL Pro Tours in the scene. Valve has not corroborated rkryptic’s claims, but most believe Kez and Act 4 will still come out in 2024. However, some fans worry about the dreaded “Valve Time.”
