Explosions, toxic players, epic weapons, and a lot of issues: Warzone 2.0 releases with great gameplay, but also some hiccups. However, as there is a lack of readily available information about it all, Jaxon has compiled as much information as possible to help you get the lay of the land and provide support through our Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 FAQ. That said, we can’t solve player toxicity, but the devs will.
Yes, you can. Plug in your controller, go to the in-game settings, select the Controller tab, and change the input from “Keyboard and Mouse” to “Controller.”
Yes, this is possible. Simply plug the keyboard and mouse into the USB ports within your console, and Warzone will automatically adjust.
The current recommended system requirements are: Intel Core i5-6600k, NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580, 12GB RAM, and 125GB storage space.
Yes, we can continue enjoying cross-play on Warzone 2.0. Here’s how to enable cross-play: log in or create a Call of Duty account or Activision account, then connect your profile. You will be given an Activision ID number.
You can now send your Activision ID number to friends who are on different consoles. That way, they can add you as a friend and join your Warzone 2.0 game.
Yes, cross-play is enabled by default, so once you connect your profile to an Activision account, you will have to disable it manually. Here’s how: enter the settings menu, find the Account tab, and change the cross-play setting to “off.”
The Gulag is a player’s chance at self-redemption. Once the player dies within the main Warzone map “Al Mazrah” they will be placed in a final 2V2 battle arena. The player will only get to experience the Gulag once per game, and there are no second chances.
In this battle arena, players are given a random weapon and are forced to face off to death. The winning team will respawn within “Al Mazrah,” whereas the losers (dead) will return to the lobby or wait for a friend to bring them back.
Many weapons can be found within random locations around the map: on the floor, inside loot crates (rare ones included), near task objectives, by killing enemy players, and by buying weapons from the shop with in-game cash.
Players can also ‘buy’ weapon loadouts that they created in the lobby. Halfway through the match, “loadout drops” will be highlighted for the player to see in yellow, and there are several around the map.
You can equip Battle Pass items by selecting them within the Warzone 2.0 pre-game lobby menus, be it the Operator menu (for operators) or the Gamesmith menu (for weapon blueprints).
The game is a Battle Royale. To win, all enemies must be eliminated: you or your teammate(s) must be the last ones standing (alive).
Yes, all Warzone 2.0 progress is transferred to the main game.
Navigate to the “operators” menu within Modern Warfare II lobby, hover your cursor or “select” over the desired operator you wish to unlock. Next to the operator, you will find a in-game challenge. Complete it, and you will unlock the operator for Warzone 2.0.
Plenty. Warzone 2.0 features a new map, guns, vehicles, operators, attachments, in-game changes such as proximity chat, better graphic settings, and furthermore runs on Modern Warfare II.
This common issue has a straightforward fix: if you purchased the game on battle.net or Steam, you can repair the game’s files.
Steam users: Find Modern Warfare II in your Game Library, right-click on it, click Properties, go to the Local Files tab, then press “Verify the integrity of game files.”
Battle.net users: Select Modern Warfare II in your Game Library. Next to the “Play” button, you will see a Settings cog; click that, then select “Verify files.”
Ensure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date (failing which, you must update them). If that doesn’t work, look through the in-game Graphics settings and make sure you aren’t trying to run the game at settings higher than your system can handle.
Before heading into a match, ensure you run shader optimization. If you decide to enter a game before doing so, you will experience GFX issues.
Modern Warfare II is currently experiencing extremely heavy loads of connection activity, and disruptions are to be expected up until after the 2022 Christmas season.
If you are experiencing terrible connection issues but nobody else is, try restarting your router and reconnecting it to your console/PC. If you use a wireless connection, perhaps consider plugging your computer or console to the router directly.
