The vtuber sister duo Fuwamoco have announced that they will be going on a hiatus, leaving fans to question the reason why and if it has anything to do with their recent illnesses.
Fuwamoco is the popular sister duo Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard, also known as Hololive’s Demonic Guard Dogs. The duo is unique in the sense that they are two different vtubers but operate one channel that is a blend of their names. They are a part of the Hololive Gen 3 EN Advent, a group of pretend criminals who escaped from prison.
The Abyssgard sisters are significantly popular with over 1.1 million followers on their combined YouTube channel alone. The duo recently released their cover Cresent Moon in English to the delight of fans, but now there is some sad news. Fuwamoco announced that they are taking a hiatus and fans are already speculating over the reason for their break.
Fuwamoco didn’t state why they are going on a hiatus but they shared a picture that hints at the duo traveling someplace else, which would account for their being unable to stick to their typical content schedule.
On March 18, Fuwamoco’s X account tweeted that the duo would be taking a break “to take care of important demon dog duties.” While they didn’t give a reason for them taking a break, the tweet had a picture with a plane and the duo’s vtuber model with suitcases. This clearly speaks to the vtubers traveling somewhere and being unable to stream in the meantime.
Fuwamoco were recently sick so they may have aligned the trip dates so they can recover and return for their fans sooner rather than later. The duo fell ill after the Hololive Fes Expo 2025 and they canceled their streams over the following week to try and recover. Other streamers including Mori Calliope also had to take time off from streaming because they got sick during the same event.
The Hololive vtubers getting sick at the same time may have something to do with them overworking themselves, and this break could prove to be beneficial for Fuwamoco. A hectic streaming schedule without proper rest can be an issue and cause far more problems than it solves.
The content creators didn’t provide an exact date for their return but did state that fans should be ready for some fun when the duo returns. Those fans will be hoping that that return comes sooner than later.
