Vtuber Kson is banned on Twitch and fans are mad, here’s why

kson vtuber

VShojo vtuber Kson has been banned on Twitch for the first time, leading to outrage among her fans who claim that she did nothing wrong.

Kson began her career as a streamer and stepped into the vtuber scene as an independent content creator in 2016. The American-Japanese vtuber later joined the popular vtuber agency VShojo. Kson is a huge fan of the Yakuza series and her model was inspired by it. Luckily for the vtuber, her popularity has helped her to appear in her favorite series on two separate occasions.

Kson was also in the news when her comments on where vtubers go after graduating went viral. The content creator stated that graduated talents don’t really go anywhere and that if fans think their favorite artist left them, it’s really the fans who left. Now the vtuber has come into the limelight again. On January 8, 2025, Twitch banned Kson and shocked her fans by doing so.

Why was Kson banned from Twitch?

Kson was allegedly banned from Twitch for streaming while playing a sexually suggestive platforming game.

Popular streaming platform Twitch is infamous for never giving public reasons for why it bans a streamer or channel. Kson also hasn’t issued an official statement informing her fans about the reason for her Twitch ban. The vtuber only made a tweet replying to StreamerBan’s tweet that confirmed she was banned.

Kson Twitch ban

Fortunately for her fans, a viewer has come forward with the alleged reason for Twitch banning Kson. The X user claims that Kson was streaming a platforming game that showed male genitalia. Another X user also shared an alleged screenshot of Kson streaming the game. This action might be enough for Twitch to suspend the channel.

Although the adult content was apparently censored, showing sexually suggestive content is against Twitch’s rules and guidelines. Twitch’s Community Guidelines state that nudity isn’t allowed on the platform and that exposing genitals is strictly prohibited. Twitch has a zero-tolerance policy against it and doesn’t allow adult games on the platform.

Many fans claimed that the game Kson was streaming wasn’t something Twitch should have banned her for to begin wtih. Other viewers praised Twitch for taking swift action and suspending the vtuber’s channel for apparently breaking the rules.

Is Kson’s Twitch ban permanent?

Opening Kson’s Twitch channel displays a message that the channel is temporarily unavailable because of a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines, so the ban shouldn’t be permanent and the vtuber should be back once the duration of the suspension passes.

There is no official confirmation of how long Kson is banned for but she may be back soon because this was her first offense. Twitch usually doesn’t give overly harsh punishments to first-time offenders when their offenses aren’t terribly severe.

If Twitch decides the offense warrants a harsher punishment then the platform might keep the channel banned for a longer duration. Adult games are forbidden on the platform, so Twitch might think the offense is severe and deserves a longer ban. But it’s likely Kson will be back to streaming live within a week.
