The news of Kilia Kurayami’s surprise graduation has fans shocked and wanting to know why their favorite vtuber is leaving.
Many popular vtubers have announced their graduations recently for various reasons. Examples include Minato Aqua, who parted ways with Hololive due to differences with the agency’s management. Even an old member of the Eien Project, Riifu Evergreen announced her graduation in June 2024 due to conflicts with agency. Kilia Kurayami is the newest addition to the growing list of vtubers to announce their graduation seemingly out of nowhere. Kilia Kurayami is a British vtuber who started streaming for Eien Project’s Museia, along with Kiki Lockheart, Riifu Evergreen, and Skye Shinryu.
Kilia streamed her songs and attracted a sizeable fanbase, so her sudden graduation announcement worries fans.
Kilia Kurayami mentioned on the YouTube stream announcing her graduation that she was leaving for personal reasons.
In a live stream on YouTube, Kilia Kurayami made the emotional announcement to her fans that she would graduate on September 8, 2024. Kilia explained that she had to make this difficult decision due to the direction her life is going in, but did not elaborate too much on the specifics of the situation. However, she thanked her viewers for all the love and support they have given her on her streams.
She stated that she knew fans would speculate but tried to clear the air by confirming that there were no negative reasons for her departure. She also confirmed that she has received full support from the Eien Project in making this difficult decision. Kilia asked her fans to not mention her graduation to her fellow Eien Project members to ensure her final days as a vtuber weren’t negatively affected.
Kilia didn’t specify exactly why she made this hard decision. However, an incident when the shed she used to stream in burned down might be related to it. Kilia made a post on X informing fans that the shed she streamed in caught fire and the flames destroyed her PC and monitors. While fortunately no one was hurt, the incident likely negatively affected the streamer and might have caused her to get overwhelmed and stressed.
