Vtuber Ailis Pupa is going on a break, here’s why

Ailis vtuber

The independent vtuber Ailis Pupa has announced she is going on a break and fans want to know when she’ll return.

Ailis Pupa is an English streaming female independent vtuber from Germany. The vtuber mainly streams ASMR content and gaming streams. She initially used a premade model, but has since gotten her very own. Ailis Pupa has changed her name multiple times throughout her career and currently goes by AliceIxia.

In November 2024, the vtuber was diagnosed with early stages of lung cancer. The vtuber went through an endoscopy to remove blood but had informed fans that she would have to have surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery meant fans were worried about not just her career, but the talent’s long-term health.

On December 17, 2024, the vtuber Ailis Pupa announced that she is taking a break and fans want to know why and when she will return.

Why is the vtuber Ailis Pupa going on a break?

Ailis Pupa is taking a break because she is having surgery to remove a tumor. In a Reddit post, Ailis Pupa announced that she will take a break from streaming because she will need time to recover from her tumor removal surgery. The vtuber said the tumor is growing outside of her left lung. She explained that doctors estimated that lung tissue might be removed depending on how much area is affected.

Furthermore, if the tumor has spread to other organs more tissue will need to be removed. The vtuber expressed her fears about the operation, stating this is the hardest thing she has done in her life. Ailis Pupa informed fans that surgery is scheduled for December 23, 2024. She will be hospitalized to run some tests on December 20, 2024, but she will stream for the last time before her break on December 19, 2024.

When will the vtuber Ailis Pupa return?

The vtuber Ailis Pupa stated that she will return to streaming once she has recovered. Ailis Pupa stated that the recovery time for the surgery is 2 to 3 weeks. So if she gets better by then she might return within a month. When it comes to a major surgery it’s hard to determine the exact recovery time. While doctors try to give an estimated time of recovery, multiple factors can affect it.

It’s also likely that the vtuber Ailis Pupa won’t be completely ready to stream even after she has started to recover from the surgery. Vtubers who underwent major health issues, such as Ookami Mio and Sakura Miko of Hololive, went months without a new stream during their respective recoveries. Whenever that return happens, Ailis Pupa has fans ready to welcome her back.
