MOUZ is going to be looking for some serious redemption against Team Vitality in BLAST Open Spring 2025, and it’s a key matchup for both bettors and the tournament.
MOUZ looked ready for a coming out party as a contender for the best team in the world. It won PGL Cluj-Napoca and was headed for the ESL Pro League Season 21 finals after beating Team Spirit. All it had to do was beat Team Vitality in the finals.
But then Team Vitality won. It didn’t just win, it beat MOUZ in a 3-0 stomp. Now MOUZ will be looking to get that win back and get stronger placement in the BLAST Open Spring playoffs.
MOUZ and Team Vitality will face off in the BLAST Open Spring 2025 group A upper bracket finals. The match is a best of three with playoff seeding on the line. The winner will advance directly to the semifinals of the tournament, while the loser will be placed in the quarterfinals to face the third-place team from group B.
Team Vitality looked excellent in ESL Pro League Season 21 and has carried that excellence into BLAST Open Spring so far. It started the tournament by stomping Astralis 2-0, and followed that up with a similarly lopsided win over Virtus.pro.
Team Vitality’s roster, once again, looks positioned to stand atop the rankings:
Over the last six months, Team Vitality has been dominant on Inferno, Dust 2, and Nuke, winning almost every time it plays on those three maps. The team’s weakest map is Anubis, where it’s 7-7 over that stretch.
MOUZ recovered well after its ugly finish in the ESL Pro League Season 21. MOUZ once again got the better of Team Falcons to kick off the BLAST Open Spring group stage and followed that up with another key win over Team Spirit.
MOUZ’s roster will be looking to get a revenge win over Team Vitality:
So far in 2025, MOUZ has been getting by on its relative strength on Ancient and Nuke, where it plays regularly and wins a strong majority of the time. Despite its success, MOUZ has a losing record on Dust 2, Mirage, and Inferno. It does not play on Anubis.
MOUZ and Vitality have played six times over the last year, with Vitality winning four of those matches. Worse yet for MOUZ, they haven’t won a map in their last three matches.
MOUZ is a massive underdog against Team Vitality. The moneylines stand at 4.92 against 1.17. While MOUZ is a very strong team, the head-to-head results and best maps situation does not suggest a strong chance of an upset.
Vitality should be able to defeat MOUZ without much trouble to advance to the BLAST Open Spring 2025 playoff semifinals. Vitality’s recent strength, its particular success against MOUZ, and their map distribution all point to a lopsided victory for Vitality.
