MOUZ’s comeback in the BLAST Austin Major has been an amazing feat. The team found itself in a deep 0-2 hole in Stage 3 after a pair of best-of-one losses. That put the team in an unenviable position of needing to win three straight matches in order to advance to the playoffs. Not making the playoffs would be chalked up as a catastrophic flop for the team, regardless of the circumstances.
The team managed to do so with three hard-fought matches, beating Team Liquid, Aurora Gaming, and Legacy. Each match was a nailbiter, but the team came out on top. Unfortunately, they got one of the toughest draws possible in the quarterfinals, facing Team Spirit. MOUZ was a fairly significant underdog but once again, it managed to claw its way past the finish line to advance to the semifinals.
It’s an incredible feat, much like MOUZ’s ability to place top four in every tournament it has played in this year. And much like that’s going to be forgotten behind Team Vitality’s dominance.
Vitality has been able to beat MOUZ throughout the year, with Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut in particular posting some of his best matches of 2025 against them. Playing in 18 maps against them, he has been able to maintain a massive 1.41 rating.
