Veibae announces indefinite hiatus from streaming, explains why

Veibae hiatus

Ex-VShojo vtuber Veibae has announced to fans that she is taking an indefinite break from streaming while also revealing the reason for the upcoming hiatus.

Veibae is a massively popular vtuber who originally debuted in 2020 as an independent talent. She went on to join the then-respected vtuber agency VShojo before leaving the group in 2023. Veibae’s streaming schedule has been erratic over the years, and the vtuber has finally revealed why her content has almost become nonexistent as she officially announced that she’s taking a formal break from content creation.

Why is Veibae going on a hiatus?

Veibae is going on an indefinite hiatus because of her self-professed mental health issues, for which the vtuber has stated she will be seeking professional help in dealing with.

Vtuber Veibae explained that she has been struggling with her mental health since 2023, but has tried to hide it and appear strong while continuing to stream. Leaving VShojo and the extreme reaction the community had towards the decision was apparently hard for the vtuber, and to make matters worse, her father passed away that same year.

Veibae said that her mental health has always been an issue, but that her departure from Vshojo, the community’s reaction to the move, and her father’s passing all piled up to make it worse until the vtuber found herself struggling to cope. She eventually lost her professional motivation and the excitement behind her streams, which explains why she has slowed her streaming in the time since. The vtuber thanked her viewers for supporting her despite Veibae not being able to stream as reliably as she once did.

Vei indicated that she wants to better address her mental health so that she can break her pattern of streaming and then disappearing for stretches of time. The vtuber stated that her fans “deserve better than that.”

The vtuber may still appear on other creator’s streams occasionally, but will be on an indefinite break from regular streaming herself. The streamer ended the announcement by saying, “It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later.”

The community’s reaction to Veibae’s announcement has been swift and almost entirely positive. Fellow vtubers and fans have all come together to wish the streamer well on her journey of healing and expressed their hope that Veibae would find consistent happiness again. Many commended the vtuber for admitting that she has a problem that needs to be addressed, as this can be the hardest part of a healing process. Others thanked Veibae for making their lives better and expressed hope that she’ll feel better soon and will one day return to streaming.
