VCT EMEA Stage 1 follows a similar format to other editions, consisting of a group stage and the playoffs.
The group stage of VCT EMEA Stage 1 2026 will take place from April 1 to May 3. All teams will be split into two groups, Alpha or Omega. They will compete in a single-round robin format, with the top four teams from each group making it to the playoffs.
The team that finishes first in their respective group will receive a bye to the upper bracket semifinals. Teams that finish second and third will be seeded in the first round of the upper bracket. The teams that finish in fourth place in their group will be placed in the first round of the lower bracket.
With the new seeding structure, it will be important for teams to finish in the top three within their group. This would allow them the cushion to lose a match without worrying about elimination. Teams that play directly in the lower bracket cannot afford to lose a single game.

The playoffs will be played in a double-elimination bracket. Taking place from May 7 to 17, all matches, excluding the lower bracket final and the grand final, will be best-of-three. The grand final and lower bracket final will be best-of-five.
Besides the three VALORANT Masters London spots, teams are also competing for crucial Championship Points, which will determine the region’s representatives at VALORANT Champions.
First place earns six championship points; second place earns four; third earns three; and fourth earns two. Furthermore, teams get a point for each win during the tournament.
This format ensures only the most consistent and best VALORANT players and teams from EMEA make it to Champions.

The 12 teams taking part in the VCT EMEA Stage 1 2026 are as follows:
If we take a look at the favorites to win this tournament according to betting websites, it is none other than Fnatic. This comes despite the fact that they failed to qualify for VALORANT Masters Santiago. However, they can only go up from here. Here are the teams to look out for when betting on VALORANT during the tournament.
If we take a look at the data, there are some stats that favor the European powerhouses. The first being that Fnatic has a 62% win rate in rounds where they have a man advantage.
This is a high win conversion rate by the team, thus placing extra emphasis on them to make sure to win the initial duels during a round.
Fnatic is known for its comeback mentality, but there is one other trait that has gone under the radar. This is that they have won 85% of the maps that they have played after losing a game, thus showcasing the team’s ability to win immediately to redeem themselves.
If we had to suggest another team to keep an eye out for, it would be BBL Esports. The Turkish team had quite the breakout this season, finishing in fifth place during VALORANT Masters Santiago. This was the highest by any EMEA team in the tournament.
Additionally, BBL Esports have a win rate of 58.3% on pistol rounds. In a best-of-three, there is a high possibility for BBL Esports to win four out of the six pistol rounds.
One stat that fans must keep an eye on is that they have won 64% of their retakes on defense. This is the highest number by any EMEA team during the VCT 2026 season.
If we had to give an alternate pick for all VALORANT fans to watch out for, it would be Team Liquid. In our preview for VCT EMEA Kickoff 2026, we had predicted that this team would make it to VALORANT Masters Santiago which they did. Under the leadership of nAts, the team finished in ninth place.
One aspect that is favoring Team Liquid in the upcoming tournament is their form against teams from VCT EMEA.
During VCT EMEA Kickoff 2026, they defeated Fnatic 3-0 in the lower bracket finals. Liquid have quite a vast map pool that they have been dominant on. The one aspect of their game they need to work on is that they go down a map quite often in the series.
This results in a “clutch or die” situation, forcing the team to complete a reverse sweep. While they have accomplished it this season multiple times, it will not be sustainable for the team in the long run.
