VCT Ascension is the first tournament of the off-season of VALORANT Esports. Each of the four regions of VCT hosts their own regional tournament. Based on the region, the team that wins the tournament or the two teams that reach the grand finals secure their spot in the regional VCT Partnership League. Within this event some of the best Valorant players from various challenger leagues face off against each other. Within the VCT Asension Pacific league, the top teams from the regional challengers event secure a place during the tournament. The tournament consists of the group stage, where the 10 teams are split into two groups.

Day 2 of the tournament saw the relegated Nongshim RedForce take on NAOS. In a shocking turn of events, NAOS caused the biggest upset of the tournament, defeating Nongshim RedForce 2:0. This was quite a shocker as Nongshim RedForce was a part of the VCT Pacific League during the 2025 season. NAOS won the clean sweep with a scoreline of 13-7 and 13-6, respectively.

In the second game of the day, we saw Full Sense take on Velocity Esports. Velocity Esports defeated Full Sense with a 2-0 scoreline. While game one was close, Velocity made a comeback from 0-6 to win the game 13-11. The second map was a one-sided affair. Velocity Esports on attack won 9 rounds in a row and secured the win with a score of 13-7.

SLT Seongnam proves the 9-3 curse is very much alive

In the final match of the day, SLT Seongnam defeated Team NKT 2-0. While game one was just a regular game, map 2 was a different affair. Team NKT on defence secured a 9-3 lead in the first half. SLT Seongnam returned the favor and won 9 arounds on defence, taking the game to overtime. During overtime, the game looked quite balanced until rounds 37 and 38, when SLT Seongnam won back-to-back rounds and secured the 2-0 Victory. With this loss, Team NKT has lost two matches and is mainly eliminated from the tournament. With the launch of Veto, only time will tell how the agent will impact the meta in VALORANT Esports.
