Fan-favorite team Sentinels is slated to face off against G2 Esports to decide which side makes it to the VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff’s grand finale, so which of them is more likely to come out on top for fans interested in making a winning bet?
Valorant’s esports scene continues to make strides into 2025, with VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff being the year’s first major tournament. While 12 teams entered the tournament to see who would come out on top, Sentinels and G2 Esports in particular have been playing consistently well. Now, these teams are slated to face off in the upper bracket’s finale.
With the excellent forms of both teams, fans looking to make a smart betting pick may find themselves feeling lost. Before the match kicks off, it may be a good idea to analyze both teams to determine which side may be the best to side with.
Sentinels and G2 Esports have both looked better than they did prior to the tournament getting underway. Sentinels took down 100 Thieves and LOUD while G2 demolished Cloud9 and Leviatán. It’s safe to say fans of both teams have been fairly satisfied thus far. With both teams about to face off, one team’s perfect streak will break.
While Sentinels is playing excellently, G2 has been unmatched in the tournament. Winning both of its matches with a complete domination of 2-0, that’s a team who could take the whole thing. This speaks to why Sentinels is the underdog, having a line of 2.20 compared to G2 Esports’ 1.58.
G2’s Nathan “leaf” Orf has the greatest potential to impact his team’s chances of winning. With a KDA of 2.4 in recent games and being the MVP in G2’s matches against both Cloud9 and Leviatán, his Viper and Chamber picks can cause devastation for Sentinels’ Duelist-heavy approach. Most would agree that shutting down Mouhamed “johnqt” Amine Ourid’s Tejo and Zachary “zekken” Patrone’s Yoru will increase G2’s chances of winning.
While Sentinels was arguably at its best in 2024, that isn’t the case anymore. Losing two star players in Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi and Tyson “TenZ” Ngo hurt the team’s image and overall reputation. Their replacements Sean “bang” Bezerra and Marshall “N4RRATE” Masey are excellent players. But the team isn’t able to dominate the opposition as it previously did.
In contrast to Sentinel winning its recent games during the Americas Kickoff with close scores of 2-1, G2 has demolished its opposition. G2 hasn’t lost a single map yet in the tournament, making it a strong betting pick against Sentinels.
