TI14 may be in the books, with the confetti from Team Falcons’ victory swept away, but Valve is celebrating the victory with the release of a brand new Treasure for Dota 2, and some in-game updates.
The Cosmic Heroes’ Hoard Treasure released late on Sep. 16, with Valve unveiling it with a blog post on the official Dota 2 website. This release came alongside new Champion Stickers to celebrate Team Falcons’ Aegis win, an addition to the Dota 2 map celebrating the victory, and the release of the TI14 fantasy rewards.
The new Cosmic Heroes’ Hoard Treasure celebrates the close of the star-themed TI with 17 item sets. There are Immortals, Personas, and even the Earthshaker Planetfall Arcana (for the first time) up for grabs. Every chest guarantees a set for legends like Spirit Breaker, Enigma, Void Spirit, Mirana, or Crystal Maiden, with rare chances at Tinker, Ogre Magi, Luna, or Earthshaker. But honestly, our favorite is the fish-headed Ogre Magi.
There were some slight issues, as the Earthshaker Arcana set briefly had a bug that caused people’s entire Dota 2 client to crash, but that was quickly fixed.

Beyond that, there’s the release of the TI14 Fantasy Rewards. While we have no doubt there’s some disappointment (this writer was in the 83rd percentile, just 2% away from the reward threshold), as this year’s International turned predictions upside down, the rewards are still there.
Finally, if you’re a Falcons fan, you can celebrate their victory with The International champions sticker capsules. Adorn your Dota 2 profile with faces of skiter, Malr1ne, AMMAR_THE_F, Cr1t-, Sneyking, or the full squad, with 50% of sales going directly to Team Falcons. A plaque also now appears in the Dota 2 map celebrating their victory.
Still, even with the shiny new treasure, some stickers and updates, the biggest news out of TI still remains the lack of a new hero or event announcement. Throughout the event, the cosmic theming, runes, and hints from both talent and videos seemed to point towards a new, cosmically-themed release in Dota 2.
Keen eyes sleuths in the Dota 2 Reddit even managed to work out that the runes scattered around the Barclays Arena in Hamburg, Germany for TI14 hinted at the existence of a ‘demon smith.’ But no sight of a demonic blacksmith hero, or indeed any new releases have been spotted as of yet. And fans are upset.

There’s also speculation, based on rumors and comments reported by Deadlock Project 8 on X (see post below), that the majority of Valve’s developers are in fact working on a new Half-Life project known as HLX, rather than Deadlock, Dota 2, or any other titles. Valve is a notoriously small company for a AAA developer, often cited as having less than 500 employees total. This could mean we’ll be waiting a while for any Dota 2 in-game event or hero release.

Still, for fans who spent days playing what some dubbed an ARG to discover a secret promoted on the TI main stage, the disappointment is palpable.
