Learning Sunset callouts is pretty easy compared to the other Valorant maps thanks to its lack of complicated corners and areas for enemies to hide in.
This simplicity makes the map fly under the radar when it comes to player skips. While maps like Icebox, Breeze, and Fracture are commonly skipped, Sunset seldom is. That’s why it’s important to have the basics of the map down, including its callouts.
Luckily, most of the common callouts on Sunset match with the minimap.
Sunset callouts used in Valorant pretty much match what the official map shows. There are only a few different things players will say, or have added, to explain exactly where someone is.
On A site, there’s a piece of equipment in the middle of the site. Players often reference this as generator. Whether or not it’s actually a generator is up for debate, but players seem to have pulled this terminology from Ascent and it stuck.
On B site, it’s common for people to hide in the corners around the site. Taking and defending a site can be quick at times, so many people will simply say corner if someone’s hiding somewhere.
On Sunset, spawn callouts can mean A alley, B boba, or that the enemy is flanking through attackers’ spawn.
A common term used in many Valorant maps, especially the smaller ones, is spawn. Often, players say their spawn or our spawn, signifying whether the enemy is in front of the team or behind the team. If a teammate is saying “our spawn,” that means the enemy is on the team’s flank. This could be anywhere on the map, but if a teammate calls it, make sure to check where the team just came from.
Spawn callouts on Sunset mostly mean A alley or B boba. Occasionally, some players will use it to mean A link, but most people will specify that area better. As always, if someone isn’t communicating correctly, asking them to ping or explain their callouts is always an option.
