New buffs in the latest Valorant patch are making Waylay more mobile than ever, while Reyna is receiving nerfs that have her players up in arms.
The eight duelists in Valorant all bring their own unique abilities to the table, but despite the crowded category, not all of them are fundamentally built for map mobility. With Neon, Jett, and Waylay, developer Riot Games aimed to shake that up. But something felt off when it came to how quickly these duelists could control space. Now, developers are making the latest addition to the game even snappier with some serious buffs while tuning back Reyna’s strengths.
After patch 11.00, Waylay will become significantly faster, giving her more control during tight duels or quick escapes and potential making her a better agent pick in many situations.
Starting with patch 11, Waylay will be able to teleport to her anchor faster and more fluidly. The reduced delay between using the ability and it actually triggering will make her movement feel smoother and more reactive. The reduced unequip time on Lightspeed Dash will make dash-to-gun much faster, helping her pick up duels right after rushing into the zone.

While most of these buffs focus heavily on movement, Waylay will also become a heavier crowd-controller. Players will be able to use her Saturate ability to punish grouped-up enemies across a larger area. When used correctly, Waylay has the potential to become a nuisance on choke-points or after spike plants, whether in the ranked queue or at the pro level.
All of this combined will make her an alternative cross of Yoru and Neon while also giving her some solid crowd control potential. Whether these changes are enough to change her standing as the least-played duelist in Valorant remains to be seen, but the patch notes sound promising so far and should bring the agent to greater prominence with players at all levels.
Meanwhile, Reyna players will want to start sharpening their timings, especially when using her Leer ability. According to the patch notes, the duelist will see a decrease of 20 health in Leer. That means enemy players will be able to destroy it more easily, forcing Reyna mains to convert damage into kills faster before the blind disappears.
Reyna should remain viable even after the change, but it will certainly make one of her primary means of engaging and securing a fight more difficult for her to cleanly pull off.
The patch will also tweak the wind-up time for Neon’s stun and Phoenix’s flash abilities, among other minor changes. All of this will go into effect on June 25, 2025.
