Fans are still waiting for the global release of Valorant Mobile, but developer Riot Games already has a surprise in store for them as the game’s mobile variant is revealed to have exclusive features that PC players haven’t yet seen.
Riot Games released a beta of Valorant Mobile in 2024, making fans hopeful that they’d soon be able to play their favorite game on Android and iOS devices. Valorant Mobile was approved for release in China and Riot has since opened up pre-registrations for the region for 2025. There was no news yet about a global release, but it’s logical for the game to be released worldwide after launching in China first.
China is a large competitive gaming market with a huge number of mobile gamers in particular, and that means a good number of players available to test out the new Valorant Mobile release. Fans have still been on the lookout for news about Valorant Mobile’s release in other regions, but no official statement has been issued. Instead, fans have now gotten a sneak peek at the game’s exclusive features for mobile.
Riot has been working on a new Valorant replay system for some time but players will see it first in Valorant Mobile, along with a social feature inspired by TikTok.
Riot Games is attempting to make their mobile port of Valorant a game-changer. This is likely why it’s being co-developed by LightSpeed Studios, the developer of the hugely successful PUBG Mobile. Developers are also adding exclusive features to Valorant Mobile and bringing new features to the mobile port before their eventual planned PC release.
Valorant’s replay system is something fans have wanted to see in the game for a long time. Developers confirmed that the feature was in the works, but fans didn’t know when they’d see it live in the game. In May, Riots’s Studio Head Anna Donlo announced that the replay system would be released in September.
Fans who will play Valorant on Android and iOS devices will get to see this feature first. This is because Riot has added it to the mobile variant ahead of the PC release. According to reports, the system is desynced, but issues are expected when something new is released initially.
A number of other features will be seen in Valorant Mobile that may make the port more successful. These include spectating friends’ matches live, customizable controls for each individual agent, and the ability to send gifts to friends in-game.
One of the more interesting features is the TikTok-inspired shorts system that allows players to post clips of their own gameplay and like clips posted by other players, a sign that may point to Riot hoping to integrate more social features into Valorant moving forward.
