Valorant Champions 2022: everything you need to know
- It all comes down to this. Valorant Champions will host 16 teams, but only one can reign victor.
- The tournament kicks off August 31 – September 18.
- Here’s everything you need to know on Champions including brackets, teams, and Champions-themed rewards.
People of the internet, the time is near. Valorant Champions is rapidly approaching, and with this being the “culmination” of Valorant events for the year, 16 teams will battle it out.
Only one will be crowned champion, and we all know, it’s going to be 100 Thieves!
Totally “unbiased” anecdote aside, Champions is only a little over a week away. Riot Games has been flooding the internet with a boatload of information as the event draws nearer.

There’s a lot to go over, but fear not, we’ve got everything you need to know right here.
Here is your Valorant Champions 2022 primer.
Bracket and Schedule
So as mentioned 16 teams will duke it out. This is only the group stage, and with no teams receiving a first-round bye, we have some incredible matchups on each side.
Japan’s surprise hitters from Masters ReykjavĂk, ZETA Division, will be battling it out against LOUD. The Paper Boys will be holding their W keys against China’s first ever representative, Edward Gaming.

Not to mention we might see another KRĂś Champions run similar to last year. Rookie sensation 100 Thieves versus Fanatic, FPX looking to repeat their Master 2’s run, XSET looking to show up; there’s a storyline for everyone.
Originally Riot mentioned the tournament started on September 2 but has gone on to clarify it starts earlier. Matches start August 31 with the grand finale taking place September 18.
The event will be viewable on Valorant’s official Twitch Channel, and its YouTube channel with the times down below.

Champions Swag
Finally – the most important part – the Champions swag. Last year brought some amazing content, and this year will be no different.
A couple of big things coming your way if you turn on Champions and your Twitch Drops.

- “Fire” title: Watch a live game between Aug. 31 – Sept. 13
- “Champions Curse” Spray: Watch a live game between Sept. 13 – Sept. 17
- “Champions Hero” Card: Watch a live game of the Grand Finals Sep. 18
Along with that, there will be an in-game rewards track that kicks off on August 23. Joining the event pass is the fabled Champions Skin bundle.
Much like last year, 50% of the Champions Skin proceeds will go to the participating teams. In case you forgot, last year was a massive success as $7.5 million was raised.
This is only Riot Game’s second attempt at Valorant Champions. Yet the amount of work they put into these events is top-notch.
Be sure to check out the Champions song that just dropped, and get ready.
A new Champion will be crowned very soon!
