To unlock the Old Man Strange skin for free, similar to the free Doctor Strange Master of Black Magic Skin, players must log in between August 21 and September 12, 2025, 9 AM UTC, play to earn XP, and reach tier 14 of the free track. The costume is included in the Ancient Powers Awaken event pass, which runs for nearly three weeks. Once the event ends, the skin won’t be obtainable for free, though it may return later in the in-game shop – but that isn’t confirmed.
The structure of this event follows something close to a battle pass system. By playing matches in different modes, players gain XP. Winning gives more points, but even losing still provide steady progress. As XP increases, the event pass level goes up and each tier unlock rewards.
