Two ways to get agent skins in CS2

CS2 Agent Skins

The opportunity to have different looks for the T and CT sides in Counter-Strike 2 makes agent skins a coveted CS2 cosmetic, but how do players actually get them?

Agent skins are some of the most expressive cosmetic options in CS2. Instead of just the gun in their hands, the skins affect their entire body and are easily distinguishable at a distance. However, finding ways to obtain these different character skins can prove to be quite difficult from first glance.

There are two methods to get new agent skins in CS2, and they cost either money or time.

How to get CS2 agent skins from the Steam market

The first way to get CS2 agent skins in through the Steam community market where players can purchase them from each other.

The market is the most straightforward method for acquiring agents. The marketplace is a one-stop shop for players to buy and sell a variety of in-game items.

To access the market and buy agent skins, follow these steps.

  • Go to the Community tab in the Steam client
  • Select Market from the dropdown menu
  • Filter the game to Counter-Strike 2 and search agent
  • Find a skin to purchase

The Steam market is the primary method for how to buy CS2 agent skins. That being said, if a player is looking for a specific skin that is not available on the community market, there are other alternatives. Players can also trade items for agent skins with other players. Lastly, CS2 fans can use third-party marketplaces to purchase agents, but they should research the sites first to ensure their safety.

Operations add new agent skins to CS2

The other main method to get CS2 agent skins is through operations. These are special battle pass-type events where players can earn tokens and exchange them for cosmetics. Agent skins are a major part of every operation, with most featuring two collections divided by T and CT. The catch is that the agents are ranked by rarity, and players have to roll on a loot box to determine which one they get.

Operation Riptide agents

Agent skins were first introduced in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive through Operation Shattered Web. Many of these original agents still remain popular, fetching high prices on the marketplace. Newer skins from Broken Fang and Riptide are significantly cheaper, especially those of lower rarity. A new operation for CS2 could lower them even further in addition to giving players a chance to new ones for cheap.
