Twitch’s senior vice president of global creators, Constance Knight, has left her position at the company. According to Bloomberg, she left on the same day as Twitch announced a controversial change to its revenue-sharing policy. Knight is moving to a new position in the “creator space.”
Twitch announced on Wednesday that it will change the revenue its top content creators will get. In a highly controversial move, it has lowered the share for its top streamers from 70% to 50% after the threshold of $100.000.
The decision was made in an attempt to make Twitch more profitable. But the decision has been received by a storm of criticism, both from content creators and (former) employees, according to Bloomberg.
Knight is the third high-profile departure from Twitch this year, as she follows in the footsteps of the chief content officer and chief operating officer. Both positions have not yet been filled.
Before joining Twitch, Knight held similar positions at YouTube and Instagram.
The news is the icing on the cake for a controversial week. Alongside the outcry over the revenue sharing change, Twitch had to step in against a rampant gambling problem and has been in the news for having a reported ‘Child predator‘ problem.
