Aui_2000 discussed about Tundra Esports expectations coming into the ESL One Stockholm Dota 2 Major 2022, strategies, taking a slight dig at North America, and more after their series against beastcoast.
Interviewer
How are you feeling about Tundra’s performance so far?
Aui_2000
I’m feeling pretty good. We are happy with the level of Dota we are playing at so it always feels nice.
Interviewer
Your expectations coming into the Major – any groups or teams in particular you are nervous about?
Aui_2000
This Major has a lot of strong teams except for China which is not here. I think coming into an event, we are always going to aim for first place because of the level the players are at.
Interviewer
After watching Tundra’s performance at Gamers Without Borders, it feels like Tundra is semi-solidified on strats, having a giant wheel house of really confident heroes with plenty of back up options in the first pick phase. Do you feel Tundra is ahead in drafting terms as compared to many teams?
Aui_2000
I think so because everyone had heroes which they thought were pickable in the new patch and that made it super easy because we understand that if a hero is first pickable, then we can also play against it – that gives us a draft advantage.
For us, we are comfortable playing against all our first picks as well as picking them, and we have a lot of strategies and thus we have a really big advantage
Interviewer
Did you expect the series against Beastcoast to go the way it did?
Aui_2000
You hope it does, but you never know in Dota. Even in Game 1, it was looking sketchy for a little bit, but we are expecting to do well in the groups against these teams.
Interviewer
Especially because you guys need DPC points since the EU region is obviously very difficult.
Aui_2000
Yes, we do not get free points like some regions [referring to North America].
Interviewer
Your thoughts on Skiter opting for Radiance and then Moon Shard on Spectre?
Aui_2000
I have no idea, honestly, I thought he should have opted for Assault Cuirass but the players made the decision in-game and it worked out.
