Team Liquid has reportedly reached an agreement with Nikita “Trexx” Cherednichenko, and the Russian pro Valorant player will now play for the organization in the VCT EMEA.
Trexx is a professional Valorant player known for his tactical acumen and some impressive performances. He’s been participating in the EMEA region since 2021, and won the VCT 2025: EMEA Kickoff event as part of Team Vitality. He’s played for various teams during his time as a Valorant pro, including Guild Esports and KOI, and most recently was with Vitality.
Trexx was benched by Vitality in March, when the team brought in Clément “CyvOph” Millard to replace him. The Valorant player tweeted the announcement at the time and also stated that he was taking a break and would be open to offers. Team Liquid has now reportedly signed Trexx, and he’ll join the team’s roster for Stage 2 of the VCT EMEA 2025 season.
TL would be bringing in Trexx to replace Mykhailo “Serial” Zhdanov, who was moved to the inactive roster by Liquid during the Valorant Masters Toronto 2025.
Serial joined Team Liquid in March and helped the team earn third place in the VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 1 tournament. Team Liquid has been known as a team with a strong roster of players who haven’t been able to put it all together over the last couple years, and fans weren’t surprised when Spirit was benched, as many were expecting a roster shakeup given TL’s struggle to truly content for a championship trophy.

Team Liquid apparently held trials for players but reportedly decided to go with Vitality’s benched pro Trexx. The Valorant player has displayed his strong and consistent performance over multiple events. Trexx is a powerful initiator who could become the change Liquid needs to better its chances moving forward.
The Valorant team will go against MKOI next as VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 2 gets underway and TL fans get their first look at Trexx with the squad.
Team Liquid’s unsuccessful performances blame doesn’t fall just on the head of any one player however, and just swapping in Trexx for Serial won’t work if the team’s overall level isn’t increased as a result. One hope is that beyond Trexx’s play-making abilities, he could help with the team’s calls and communications, potentially taking some of that communicative load off of nAts.
It remains to be seen whether bringing in Trexx could be the catalyst to push the team over the hump and into championship contention.
