Chinese Dota 2 organization Team Tidebound has announced the organization has gone inactive, effective immediately, as per an announcement on their social media.

In the post, from Dec. 24, Tidebound’s management explained that the decision was based on “current personnel environment and long-term development of CN Dota.” However, the organization left room for the team to reform in the future saying the banner had only “been temporarily lowered.”

The post further explained and celebrated Tidebound’s short-lived but momentous levels of success. Formed in January 2025, the organization originally operated under All Gamers Global, as part of that organization’s shot at a Club Championship at the Esports World Cup 2025.

In July, the team switched to the Tidebound mantle, and started seeing a rise in its level of success, culminating in a win at Clavision Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi, and a 7-8th place finish at The International 2025, TI14. However, the team found limited success following that. And in October, foundational part of the roster, mid laner Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang, joined regional rival, Xtreme Gaming.

In the announcement, the team thanked its fans and supporters:

“We would also like to thank every fan who has accompanied Tidebound on its journey. Every shout and every word of encouragement from you has been the driving force behind our progress through adversity.

Because of you, we have regained our confidence in our lows and experienced double the joy in our highs. Your passion is the warmest backdrop to this journey.”

While the post left room for a Team Tidebound reformation, the announcement on the same day that Guo “shiro” Xuanang, Lin “planet” Hao, and Zhang “y`” Yiping, had joined Vici Gaming, means that it will be with likely be with different players.

Vici Gaming’s next scheduled competition is at the end of January, during the ESL Challenger League China. However, it’s likely the organization will also be competing in the qualifiers for DreamLeague, BLAST Slam 6, ESL One Birmingham 2026, and PGL Wallachia Season 7 in January.
