Fantasy is open for the group stage of TI 2024, and the right picks could earn a ton of free battle pass boosters.
If The International is the ultimate way for pro teams to prove their mettle, then fantasy is the ultimate way for fans to do the same. Players with the battle pass are tasked with picking three players to represent their dream team during each stage of the event. Fans get one pick for support, core, and mid, and their picks are then judged based on the emblems each player has. This makes fantasy a matter of both picking the right players and properly upgrading their emblems.
Here’s how to optimize TI 2024 fantasy to get the most free levels possible in the group stage.
Jaxon.gg’s fantasy picks for the TI 2024 group stage are Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf, Quinn Callahan, and Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen.
The only logical choice is to grab superstar players who excel in their roles, but there’s a bit of variety even within that category. Two of the players below are from Falcons, which enters as the overwhelming favorite to win TI 2024. Even considering the TI curse, the squad consistently dominates the group stage even in tournaments it doesn’t win. Riyadh Masters 2024, for example, saw Falcons go 9-5 for games with a leading 4-1-2 match record. As for Quinn, he is undoubtedly the best mid laner in the world. Other potential picks for each role could be stat monster Du “Monet” Peng, reigning champ Denis “Larl” Sigitov, and reckless playmaker Samuel “Boxi” Svahn.
As for the emblems, it’s very important to make sure their point multipliers are relevant to both a player’s position and play style. For example, Quinn is guaranteed to get quite a few runes as a mid player. That makes runes grabbed the ideal blue emblem for him. Tower kills are also relevant since Gaimin Gladiator’s carry Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov either heroically sacrifices himself in the required team fight or sits it out. Note that it can be very expensive to roll good runes. Reroll tokens are pretty limited for TI 2024 fantasy, so be sure to save some for after the group stage.
Note that rerolling quality is also quite important, as there’s no downside to having all tier V multipliers. Add up the tiers of each color across all players. If the result is below nine, it’s a good idea to reroll for that color. For example, the green qualities above add up to 10, so they can stay as they are. However, the reds only add up to six, so it’s wise to reroll the quality of red modifiers.
Lastly, a note on titles. These are the adjectives around a player’s name listed under the position. Title rerolls each grant eight options to pick from, so rerolling once each is a very good use of tokens. Instead of focusing on the size of the multiplier, simply pick whichever one seems most likely to occur. A fat 45% bonus doesn’t matter if the condition isn’t met. With Cr1t-, we chose to focus on the virtuoso title, which grants bonuses if the hero has a high Dota Plus level with their picks. Since Cr1t- is a notorious pub grinder with a relatively small hero pool, he is very likely to pick master and grandmaster heroes. Focusing on likelihood rather than payoff is the way to go for TI 2024 fantasy in the group stage and beyond.
