Valorant patch 9.08 was a big one, rolling in with significant design and visual changes for Sunset, yet Cypher mains have already found a way to tackle attackers on B site.
Sunset was released as one of the larger maps in Valorant in August 2023, adding a fresh and colorful touch to the game’s ice-cold scenery. Set in summertime Los Angeles, Sunset is one of the most vibrant locations in Valorant, and it’s made even more fun with its three-lane layout, which can be a bit confusing for newcomers. In patch 9.8, Riot added some much-needed design changes to the map that rendered some of the old lineups useless. For example, the platforms on the right have been completely removed from the B main exterior, and the cart in the middle of the entrance has been pushed back.
These changes could embolden attackers to engage more confidently, potentially placing defenders at a slight disadvantage. Cypher mains have concocted the perfect one-way smoke for B main to counter those hard pushes.
Players will need a single Cyber Cage to block B main one-way with Cypher using a strategic toss towards the entrance.
Run towards the corner of B’s main entrance and place a crosshair on top of the door, as shown in the video. Now, equip the Cyber Cage and release both devices. Run back to the defender platform and activate smokes upon hearing footsteps. The smoke will create a one-way window, putting attackers at a disadvantage. Here’s a demonstration of how to smoke new Sunset’s B main with Cypher.
This lineup is ideal for locking down early-round pushes on B main. To play it safe, consider buying two Cyber Cages in case the enemies try a fake push to drain your utility. Use the first on the initial contact and save the second for later.
Pairing this setup with a camera enables Cypher mains to lock down the site solo, making them the self-sufficient sentinel Riot designed them to be.
