This day in Fortnite history: Chapter 1 Season 5 released

Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 5 was part of the golden age of Fortnite. This was the first season for a lot of players, as the game seemed to be on top of the world.

Season 5 was also one of the most interesting seasons in terms of the game's lore.

Fortnite collided with reality at the start of Season 5, as teasers starting popping-up IRL.

Drift, the main Battle Pass character, was sucked into the world of the game as the Durr Burger head was spotted in the California desert.

Season 5 was one of the most exciting times to be a Fortnite player.

We had some huge map changes, a fresh Battle Pass to explore, and weekly updates that drastically changed the game,

The previous season gave us the first-ever Fortnite event: the Rocket Launch. This, of course, led to one of the most legendary characters Fortnite as seen: Kevin.

We also got some of the most iconic new weapons and items in Fortnite during Season 5.

The new season brought us the:

  • ATK
  • P90
  • Double-Barrel Shotgun
  • Heavy Sniper
  • Rift-to-Go
  • Grappler
  • Shockwave Grenade
  • Drum Gun
  • Suppressed AR
  • Port-A-Fortress

Season 5 brought some of the more significant map changes to this point as well, with Lazy Links, Tomato Temple, Paradise Palms, and Viking Village.

The season ended as Kevin rolled his way across the map, eventually melting into Loot Lake.

Kevin's journey was the catalyst for Season 6, as it lifted the Loot Lake island into the air and brought it all across the map.

For a lot of Fortnite players, Season 5 was the best time to play the game. It's certainly a fond memory to look back on in 2021.
