SunnySplosion’s X account announced her return just one day after Kunai Nakasato’s graduation. While this surprised fans, they were also happy the vtuber would continue to entertain them. The vtuber didn’t provide any reasons for her departure from Nijisaji, but fans speculated it might be due to the disease she was suffering from. In September 2024, when Kunai Nakasato graduated, she claimed there was no animosity between her and the vtuber agency Nijisanji. However, new information has surfaced that shows some of the weird things the agency made her do.

Nijisanji made Kunai pretend to have a dad, and this might be why she left the agency and returned as Sunny.

In a stream, Sunny told her fans that she knows many of them think she has a dad but she doesn’t and when she was Kunai, Nijisanji told her to make up a dad in her lore.

Sunny said that she asked Nijisanji to leave her dad out of her family introduction video because she didn’t have a father. The vtuber claims that instead of removing her dad from the video, the agency told her to pretend that she has a dad.

SunnySplosion said this weirded her out but she went along with it so she has a fake dad in the video. Furthermore, she stated Nijisanji claimed it was just roleplaying and she shouldn’t be so serious as it would make people sad.

The vtuber agreed that kind of made sense, but now that she thinks about it, it sounds insane. She stated that she understands its roleplaying for Nijisanji. However, she still wonders why she didn’t put her foot down and tell the agency to remove her dad from the video.

Sunny elaborated that it’s her fault that she has a fake dad and the agency isn’t to blame. She explained that Nijisanji only gave her a suggestion but she also said that when someone is suggested something like that then it’s hard to say no.

Fans agreed that it was very weird of Nijisanji to make a talent pretend to have a dad when they don’t have one in real life. Furthermore, some even questioned what would happen if the vtuber slipped up later and admitted her lore was fake.
