The past life of Hololive’s Ina explained

Hololive Ina

The 1st generation of Hololive English has a fascinating history, and the past life of Ina is no exception.

Hololive’s overseas expansion has been undeniably successful, especially in North America. With high-profile events such as the Hololive x MLB collaboration or sold-out tickets for Breaking Dimensions, fans worldwide are all in on Hololive English. Ninomae Ina’nis, more popularly known as Ina, was among the first members of Hololive English’s first generation dubbed HoloMyth.

But much like her fellow members, Ina was already a popular talent before becoming an eldritch daughter of the seas.

Who is Hololive Ina’s past life?

In her past life, Hololive’s Ninomae Ina’nis’ actor is the professional artist Nagu.

Those familiar with Nagu’s work quickly recognized her signature style when Ina presented her artworks. Nagu has worked on popular anime and gacha games such as Fate/Grand Order and Colorful Palette and continues to work as a freelance artist today.

Hololive policy prevents talents from directly referring to past lives or alternate identities online. However, Cover Corp does not stop talents from continuing these ventures as active personas, provided it doesn’t affect their Hololive activities. That is how Mori Calliope can still maintain her Demondice brand, while Takanashi Kiara does the same with her Keekihime account.

Was Ina a vtuber career Hololive?

Ina was a vtuber before Hololive, appearing as a tomboy model.

Notably, Nagu began streaming as a vtuber before her HoloMyth debut. Dubbed by fans as “the ancient archives,” these VODs showcased a janky yet charming 3D tomboy model for Nagu. At the time, Nagu claimed she wasn’t a vtuber because she was “just herself,” though her fans teased her as a liar. Understandably, these vtuber streams stopped when she began working for Hololive.

Interestingly, other users claim to have recognized Nagu not for her art style, but for her impressive Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward record. Regardless, Ina has made quite the name for herself well before the tentacled makeover.

Even after her Hololive debut, Ina’s streams were similar to archived ones. Her reputation for chill conversation, art streams, and dry humor didn’t change, even though the models and backstory did.

Hololive Ina’s past life showcases the kind of talent Cover Corp scouts for in its new generations.
