The new XP changes in Spectre Divide explained

Spectre Divide XP weapon

The September 10 patch notes for Spectre Divide are all about earning more XP.

It’s been a week since Michael “shroud” Grzesiek’s answer to the competitive FPS market launched. While players have enjoyed its focus on mechanical skills and switching between two bodies, they have also noticed a few issues with the cosmetic pricing and XP progression. In the patch notes released today, developers are hoping to balance ranked and progression.

Here’s the reworked XP system for Spectre Divide explained with how to make the most of it.

Spectre Divide XP changes in patch notes

XP earning has been slower in Spectre Divide than developers hoped, so the latest patch is designed to help players rank up faster.

  • Weekly/Daily Contracts
    • Round Played: 100 to 300
    • Daily Goals: 3,000 to 6,000
    • Weekly Goals: 12,000 to 24,000
    • Team Goals: Doubled on average
  • Crew Competition
    • Crew Star: 2,000 to 4,000
    • Crew Competition Rewards: Doubled on average

These changes should ensure that players climb up the ranks faster. The lessened grind has been acknowledged by Spectre Divide fans.

Note that XP is not the same as a player’s SR, their level in ranked. XP is used in Spectre Divide to unlock cosmetics. While the game has proudly proclaimed it’s not pay-to-win, players still felt quite frustrated at the cost and amount of grinding it took to unlock things in the game. This change has shown that devs are listening to player feedback.

Spectre Divide brings solo customs

Spectre Divide has introduced ranked, which means players want to get in practice while they rank up using solo customs. Devs have brought in custom matches players can start by themselves. This will allow solo grinders to practice their lineups, learn maps, and more.

Another big change is that players can now surrender on round two. This should help gamers deal with “early abandoners,” devs wrote. Check out the full patch notes here to see bug fixes as well.

Does Spectre Divide have a battle pass?

While devs have addressed the Spectre Divide XP issue, there is still no battle pass in the game.

Most games implement a battle pass when the game goes into its first season. Right now, Spectre Divide is in its pre-season since it’s only been out for a week. There is a timer in the game’s shop that points to Season 1 dropping near the end of September.
