The 2024 North American International Championships are almost there, and this year’s prizes for Pokemon Fantasy Team are absolutely stellar.
The Pokemon Fantasy Team contest debuted during the 2023 Pokemon World Championships. Players can make two teams of eligible Pokemon, one with TCG cards and another with game-based Pokemon with the goal of matching World performances. Current eligible Pokemon are unknown but are likely to come from a curated list.
2024’s contest is open to players from both the United States and Canada with some worthwhile Pokemon Fantasy Team prizes up for grabs.
Participants who finish in the top hundred for either the TCG or game teams will win both a Twilight Masquerade booster box and a Landorus plush as their Pokemon Fantasy Team prizes.
The Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet Twilight Masquerade Booster Display Box features Bloodmoon Ursaluna and Terastallized Ogerpon on the front. With thirty-six packs, the main focus of the Pokemon Fantasy Team prize is on Kitatami Pokemon. This means that players may be able to get cards such as Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex, Sinistcha ex, and even Tera forms of non-Gen 9 Pokemon. The box is unavailable in the Pokemon Center but usually sells for around $160.
A Pokemon Center original, the Landorus (Incarnate Form) Sitting Cuties Plush sits at six inches tall and retails for $14.99.
The top finisher in the TCG team and game team will receive a Mountain of Discovery figure. Currently unreleased, the figure contains several different Pokemon including Zubat, Onix, and Charmander. As the release date is unknown, winners will get one as a Pokemon Fantasy Team prize before the figure is available to the general public.
It’s important to note that while participants can build teams for both categories, it’s only possible to win one prize.
Interested parties have from May 24 to June 6 to sign up and create their TCG and game-based teams. The first 10,000 United States players and first 2,000 Canadian players will receive a discount code to use at registration. Additionally, all players who make at least one team will get a 10% off code for the Pokemon Center.
The Pokemon North American International Championships will go live starting on June 7, 2024. Fantasy Team participants and viewers can stream the championships live on Twitch and Youtube.
