The MongolZ confirmed via its official Telegram channel that Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold will miss the StarLadder Budapest Major. Even though he’s been the best player on The MongolZ throughout the season, the organization benched Senzu earlier this month.
Instead of Senzu, The MongolZ will play the StarLadder Budapest Major with Unudelger “controlez” Baasanjargal, the team’s stand-in for IEM Chengdu and BLAST Rivals Season 2.
Controlez is a 28-year-old Mongolian player who have never faced a tier-one team thus far in his career. He did attend the BLAST.tv Austin Major earlier this year with Chinggis Warriors, though, but they were knocked out in Stage 1 and never faced any top teams.
This is a major blow to The MongolZ’s chances at the Major as they were one of the favorites alongside Vitality, Team Spirit, and MOUZ. Unless controlez plays the best Counter-Strike of his life, The MongolZ will likely struggle against the top dogs.
As of now, it remains unclear if Senzu will return to The MongolZ’s active roster in 2026. The MongolZ never explained his departure, other than saying that the decision came after “careful discussions between players and management.”
Senzu, too, has been quiet on his socials ever since departing the team. He simply explained why he left NKT back in 2023, but didn’t touch on his current The MongolZ situation.
Mongolian commentator Khatanbold “KEi” Batbayar claimed on a recent episode of the FreezeTime podcast that he talked with Senzu and that he left because of burnout. This would explain why The MongolZ removed its best CS2 player ahead of the StarLadder Budapest Major.
So, this is The MongolZ’s roster for the remainder of 2025:
